How to screenshot your desktop

Capture the whole screen, then upload the still image. This page works without JavaScript.

Before you start (privacy)

Close personal apps and windows, hide notifications, and check the desktop for names, emails, file names, photos of people, work documents, addresses, and tokens. Uploads with personal info will be rejected.

Windows 10/11

  1. PrtScn copies the full screen. On newer Windows 11 it may open Snipping Tool — choose Full screen.
  2. Win + PrtScn saves a file to Pictures › Screenshots.
  3. Win + Shift + S, then pick full-screen mode.

With more than one monitor, PrtScn captures all of them.

macOS

  1. Shift + Command + 3 saves the full screen to the Desktop as a PNG. That is fine.
  2. Shift + Command + 5 opens options. Choose Capture Entire Screen and pick the display.

Linux — GNOME (Ubuntu, Fedora)

  1. PrtScn opens the screenshot UI. Choose Screen, then capture.
  2. The file is saved to Pictures/Screenshots.
  3. Shift + PrtScn and Alt + PrtScn capture a region or window instead.

Linux — KDE Plasma

  1. PrtScn opens Spectacle. Choose Full Screen or Current Screen.
  2. Shift + PrtScn captures the full screen directly.

ChromeOS

Ctrl + the Show windows key (the rectangle) captures the full screen.

Other / Linux Mint (Cinnamon), XFCE

PrtScn opens the screenshot tool. Pick the entire screen.

Then upload

Go to Upload, choose the file (or drag it, or paste it), pick the OS and tags, add a description, tick the agreement, and submit. It appears once it is approved.
